Get Into Volunteering

Are you in Sciences and interested in getting involved in volunteering?  Do you have a project that you have always wanted to do but have lacked the skills and the resources necessary to complete it?

The third annual Get Into Volunteering event hosted by UBC SciTeam is happening on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at Woodward Instructional Resource Centre on campus.

The event, for Science students by Science students, is totally free and dinner is included. Come hear about experiences from students in medical, sustainability and social fields, learn skills at our small-group workshops and finish off by browsing our resource fair that has over 20 organizations participating. This isn’t your father’s boring lecture-at-your event, you will actively interact, engage, and reflect on all aspects of the event.

Our theme this year is VoLEARNteering and we are going to highlight opportunities that will allow undergraduate students to thrive and succeed in their volunteering placements as well as learn from their experiences. Registration is already half-full, so hurry up before you’re put on the dreaded waiting list! Find out more and register online.
