About Student Development

Student Development is just one expression of UBC’s commitment to its students. The Student Development team works collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty within the VP Students portfolio and across the University to deliver programs and services that advance student development, enhance student learning, and foster student leadership and involvement.

Student Development functions best when the focus is on students and the work is collaborative: bringing together all kinds of expertise, working between disciplines, and building connection points among students, alumni, faculty, and staff. At its best, it doesn’t – and shouldn’t – reside in one building or on one website.

Reflecting this, here we have gathered some programs and initiatives that are representative of the type of work that we do.
