When you are somewhere new, it can often be overwhelming to think about ways to find your place, or your community within the whole.
At UBC there are literally thousands of involvement opportunities for new, current and established students on campus. Involvement looks different for each person. Some people love running events, others want to learn transferable skills, while others want to build wider networks and connections beyond their faculty or school.
At the Centre for Student Involvement (CSI) we want to help you navigate your way through the opportunities on campus. Any time the space is open, you are welcome to stop by and chat with the staff member at the Welcomed Desk about the best opportunities for you. The idea is to connect you to one or two things that might be the right fit based on a conversation of what your experiences have been, and what you would like to do in the future. We’ve been referring to it as finding your lime. Choose well, not all.
Finding your lime is all about finding your passion. Is it UBC Rec? Residence Life? Student Leadership? Participating in Involvement Coaching will help you determine how your past experiences and current interests can help you find the perfect involvement opportunity at UBC.
Make sure you make time to stop by the CSI to meet with a senior student or professional staff member for one-on-one Involvement Coaching!
