Commitments

All Orientations Leader positions (except Squad Leaders)
  • Attend Group Interview in February.
  • Attend March training sessions to meet and get to know your Squad.
  • Stay in contact with your Squad Leader over the summer.
  • Attend summer social events, if possible.
  • Help with August work parties, if available.
  • Participate in mandatory training.
  • Welcome new-to-UBC students throughout Imagine Day.
  • Help with recruitment of next year’s volunteers and student leaders.
  • Imagine MUG Leaders: provide support and campus connections during term 1 transition for your first-year students and keep in touch with them throughout the school year  .
UBC Orientations Squad Leaders
  • Apply and attend an interview in November.
  • Attend the weekend-long BOOt Camp retreat in January.
  • Attend the Student Leadership Conference in January.
  • Attend monthly BOO Meetings.
  • Assist with Orientation Leader Group Interviews in February.
  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of the March training sessions.
  • Keep in touch with your Squad throughout the summer and maintain open communication.
  • Attend your mandatory training.
  • Help to facilitate fall training for the leaders in your program.
  • Lead your Squad and welcome new-to-UBC students throughout Imagine Day.
  • Provide your squad with support during the first term as they keep in touch with their first-year students during term 1 transition.
