Why Volunteer?

As an Orientations leader, you have the rewarding job of welcoming over 8,000 incoming first-year, international, and transfer students, and their parents, to UBC. You’ll work in a team environment, gain event-planning experience, and help make UBC a great place for incoming new students.

The benefits of being a leader:

  • You’ll gain valuable mentoring skills
  • You’ll have a chance to practice your public-speaking skills
  • You’ll get the opportunity to attend the summer Leadership Recognition Event
  • You’ll get a free I AM UBC T-shirt
  • You’ll be able to leave a lasting impression on the orientation and transition experience of new-to-UBC students
